Film and television media Deadline reported today (August 5) that the classic Hong Kong film "A Better Tomorrow" directed by John Woo will be filmed as a new American version. John Woo will return to direct and produce, and Omar Sy (French version of "The Intouchables") will star. It will be launched on the streaming media Peacock next year. The original version starred Chow Yun-fat, Danny Lee, Sally Yeh and Zhu Jiang. It tells the story of a killer who accidentally injured a female singer and caused her blindness during an operation. He took on the task again in order to raise money for her treatment. It was released in 1989. |
