Lionsgate and Hasbro's upcoming Monopoly movie will be written by the duo who brought us the critically underrated Dungeons & Dragons: Rogue Glory. According to Deadline, John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, whose other screenwriting credits include Spider-Man: Homecoming, have joined the project, which is based on Hasbro's classic board game. Meanwhile, Lionsgate's Monopoly film will be produced by Margot Robbie's production company LuckyChap Entertainment. “We know LuckyChap Entertainment will attract some of the best talent in the industry, and Lionsgate and Hasbro are delighted that Goldstein and Daly have decided to join this exciting project,” said Erin Westerman, co-president of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group. "We have long admired their work - telling bold, original and rich stories for all audiences. They are the perfect people to create this series." In addition to the Monopoly movie adaptation, it was announced last year that LuckyChap Entertainment is working with EA to adapt Maxis' life simulation game series The Sims into a movie. |
