According to Netflix’s official description, it will take place in Greece. Johnson shared his vision for the film in a post on Twitter:

“What I love about Agatha Christie is that she never tested the waters creatively. I think it’s a misconception that her books used the same formula over and over again, fans know the opposite is true.

It's not just about design or murder methods, she's constantly expanding the genre conceptually. Under the umbrella of Mystery Man, she's written spy thrillers, original killer horrors, serial killer hunts, gothic romances, psychological character studies, glam travelogues.

When I was making Knives Out, that’s what got me excited about the prospect of creating more mysteries with Daniel as Benoit Blanc — emulating Christie, making each film feel like a brand new book, with its own tone, ambition, raison d’être… and title.”
