Jeremy Renner, who plays Hawkeye, made his first appearance since the snowplow accident on the red carpet for the April 11 premiere of his Disney+ show Rennervations. The Disney+ series, which launched on the streaming platform today, April 12, revolves around the actor giving back to communities around the world by scavenging abandoned parking lots in Nevada that include buses, ambulances, tow trucks, and other public vehicles, and transforming them into vehicles with unique uses for the corresponding communities. Renner was seen on crutches on the red carpet at the premiere in Westwood, California, and reporters were told to avoid asking questions about his health. Of the new show, Renner told Deadline: "Making this show isn't work, it's always fun, it's for laughs and for a good cause. It really has a big impact on people and it's definitely had a big impact on my life as well." He went on to say that working on Clunkers was very important to him because he was able to give kids a chance to be inspired. The first episode of the show follows Renner and his team as they create a mobile recording studio for a children's show in Chicago. Renner converted an old, abandoned tour bus. After the premiere, ABC talk show host Jimmy Kimmel sat him down for a chat. During the chat, Kimmel asked him if he had any plans to use the snowplow that injured him again. Renner said: "(The snowplow) is a necessity for that house. My mom wanted to burn it down and have a big party. But it's amazing. I love it, but I need to learn how to drive it better." While in the hospital, Renner was run over by a snowplow while trying to pick up his nephew from the snow, breaking more than 30 bones. But while in the hospital, Renner urged Disney not to delay the premiere of "Clarks." Disney did postpone the show anyway. "Sometimes I feel like an asshole," Renner said during the panel, adding that he didn't deserve the attention. However, co-host Rory Milikin said, "He does. He just doesn't know it." |
