Media reviews for the reboot of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" are out. The media scored 36 points on MTC, and the media IGN gave it a score of 5. IGN rating: 5 points, mediocre The Texas Chainsaw Massacre reboot is a sloppy and gratuitous slasher with some entertaining deaths but a poorly written script that ruins the movie. Summarize: The Texas Chainsaw reboot doesn't do a better job of redefining Leatherface's legacy than the sequels and remakes that came before it. Those who value the slasher for how many people he kills and his creativity might give this one a chance. Otherwise, 2003's The Texas Chainsaw Massacre did a better job of being dark and raw. Almost every other entry that features a twisted family affair proves why Leatherface needs his chainsaw. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is like a basement full of bodies, and Leatherface has become another giant villain - however, this is not a fresh start that hardcore fans of the Texas Chainsaw series would welcome. |
