Director Confirms The Batman Will Not Tell an Origin Story

The new Batman, which will be released on March 4, has released a new poster. Director Matt Reeves said in an interview that the film will not involve the origin story again because the audience has seen it too many times. It is reported that the film is 175 minutes long, the second longest superhero movie, second only to Avengers 4 at 181 minutes.

Matt Reeves said: "We had seen it so many times (Bruce Wayne witnessing his parents being murdered) and filmed it so many times that I knew we couldn't do it again."

Earlier, he also said that the film was influenced by the comic book "Batman: Year One" and that he got inspiration from Kurt Cobain, the late lead singer of Nirvana, when writing the script. "I was listening to music while writing the script, and when I was writing the first scene, it happened to be Nirvana's 'Something In The Way' (hmmmm...). This song inspired me to write a different Batman. Different from the versions by Christian Bale and Ben Affleck, my version was influenced by the 1990s Grunge rock music."

In Matt Reeves' view, he did not want to portray Bruce Wayne as a playboy. Wayne just experienced a great tragedy and became a hermit, "so I connected him with Gus Van Sant's "The Last Days" (the film tells the story of Blake, a rock singer who alludes to Kurt Cobain, living in seclusion in a dilapidated house)."
