Daniel Craig doesn't think women are suitable to play 007

No Time to Die was Daniel Craig's last time playing 007, and after that, everyone is speculating on who will be the next 007. Although there is a lot of speculation, no one has been confirmed yet. When asked if a woman should play the next Bond, Craig said it would be a disservice to the actresses.

“There should be better roles for women and actors of color,” Craig told RadioTimes. “Why have a woman play James Bond when there should be a role just as good as James Bond but for a woman?”

Craig's statement echoes what long-time 007 filmmaker Barbar Broccoli said in 2020. At the time, Barbar said: "James Bond can be any color, but he must be a man. I believe we should create new roles for women. I am not interested in having a woman play a male role. I think women are much more interesting than 007."

From this perspective, No Time to Die will have a female agent (Lashana Lynch) who is not James Bond.

"No Time to Die" is scheduled to be released in China on October 29th.
