The sci-fi action film "Chaos Walking" starring Daisy Ridley, Tom Holland, Mads Mikkelsen and David Oyelowo has been officially scheduled to be released in mainland China on August 27. Directed by Doug Liman ("The Bourne Supremacy", "Mr. and Mrs. Smith", "Edge of Tomorrow"), it was released in North America in March this year.

"Chaos Walking" domestic release date trailer:

"Chaos Walking" is adapted from the novel of the same name. It is set in a future dystopian colony planet. Almost all women in the small town of Prentiss are wiped out by a virus called "Noise". Living creatures can hear and understand other people's thoughts through flowing images, words, and sentences. Privacy no longer exists, and people are in panic all day long. The male protagonist Todd discovered a "quiet" place during his escape, which was caused by the girl Viola. She may be the key to solving the mysteries. They will join forces to prevent the mayor from launching a military terrorist attack and fight against foreign invasion forces.

Ridley and Holland play Viola and Todd, Mikkelsen plays the mayor Prentiss, and Oyelowo plays Aaron, a combative radical and opponent who joins the mayor's gang to fight against the protagonist.
