Wang Keying withdraws from live-action drama "The Powerpuff Girls" due to scheduling conflicts

The CW had previously filmed some scenes for the live-action series "The Powerpuff Girls", but after careful consideration it was decided to reshoot and redevelop the series, which will begin later this year and will no longer participate in this year's broadcast season.

According to an exclusive report from Variety today (August 12), Wang Ke Ying has withdrawn from the live-action series of "The Powerpuff Girls" and will no longer play Blossom. Because the original filming was scrapped and Wang Ke Ying's schedule conflicted with the new plan, she had no choice but to withdraw, and the new casting will begin in the fall.

Dove Cameron still plays Bubbles, Yana Perrault still plays Maomao, Donald Faison plays Professor You, and Diablo Cody (Juno) and Heather Regnier (Veronica Mars) wrote the screenplay.

The live-action drama "The Powerpuff Girls" tells the story of Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup, who were once American mini superhero trio. They are now in their twenties, disillusioned, and regret spending their childhood fighting crime. But now the world needs them to reunite and strike again more than ever. Will the trio agree?
