Alien TV series will be rooted in the movie universe, with Ridley Scott deeply involved

The Alien series has always had a way of its own. One part blue-collar sci-fi, one part corporate dystopia, its unique style has held up remarkably well since the first film was released in 1979.

In an interview with reporters, John Landgraf, chairman of FX TV, said that the upcoming Alien TV series from Noah Hawley (creator of Fargo) will continue this tradition. Alien movie director Ridley Scott will be deeply involved as a producer.

"The Alien TV series will be rooted in the movie universe. I think Noah Hawley is very aware that the movie universe exists. Although it has a certain flexibility, the aesthetic established by Ridley Scott and continued by James Cameron is part of that universe. So, I believe that you will see some unique creativity that belongs to Noan himself, but also the feeling of the Alien movie universe that audiences are familiar with."

The Alien TV series was first announced in December 2020, and the screenwriter is Noah Hawley, the producer of the American TV series Fargo. He previously revealed that the TV version will not have Ripley played by Sigourney Weaver, and the story is not limited to confined spaces such as prisons and spaceships. Hawley said that most of the past Alien movies focused on stories in confined spaces, and he wanted to see what it would be like if this top hunter lost control.

The show will explore "inequality" and put the people who are sent to do the dirty work together with the people who send them. Hawley said: "You will see what will happen when the inequality we are in today cannot be solved. If we as a society do not know how to support each other and spread wealth, what will befall us?

The TV series "Alien" will be set on Earth and find out what will happen when the aliens cannot be contained. Currently, the script for two episodes of the TV series "Alien" has been completed and is scheduled to start shooting in the spring of 2022, and is expected to be broadcast in 2023.
