Jacob Batalon, who starred in the latest Spider-Man film series, will star in Syfy's new series Reginald, a comedy based on Johnny B. Truant's Fat Vampire series of novels. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Batalon, who played Spider-Man's assistant Ned in Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home, will enter the field of TV dramas and star in Syfy's new vampire drama Reginald, which has been booked for 10 episodes. In the play, "Reginald Baskin (Bataron) is in a world of beautiful, decent and conceited vampires" and he must "go through all kinds of hardships - the girl he loves doesn't love him, the boss at work is bossy, and the vampire leader wants him dead." But fortunately, he finds that "he has some unknown power." Truant's Fat Vampire novel series was first published in 2012 and has spawned five sequels and three spin-off series, but this is the first time the series has been adapted for television. Spider-Man: No Homecoming is set to hit theaters on December 17, with Batalon set to reprise his role as Ned in the third film in the series. |
