Is the live-action movie "Minecraft" not doing well at the box office? The first trailer received over 1.3 million likes

Movies adapted from games have always been a minefield, with very few successful cases. After the flop of the live-action movie "Borderlands", Warner's live-action version of "Minecraft" also looks very bad. Since the first trailer of this movie was released on September 4, it has received more than 1.3 million likes on YouTube.

According to foreign media reports, the trailer for the movie "Minecraft" attracted 31.796 million views four days after its release on YouTube, but it also received surprisingly negative reviews. The ratio of likes to dislikes was 610,000 vs 1.32 million, which is really rare, with over a million dislikes.

It’s typical of how badly the internet reacted to the trailer for Minecraft, which uses a weird blocky-but-not-game-blocky animation style, obvious green-screen effects, and a very bizarre cast, including Jason Momoa with the weirdest hairdo you’ve ever seen.

The most controversial part of the trailer is Jack Black's character Steve. He looks like an ordinary Jack Black in daily life, wearing a blue shirt, with his iconic wild hairstyle and gray beard. This is a huge contrast to people's image of the protagonist of "Minecraft".

Jack Black, who previously voiced Bowser in Super Mario Bros., Crankle in Borderlands, and now plays Steve in Minecraft, has become a bit tired of his constant appearances in video game adaptations, and his breakup with longtime partner Kyle Gass over his political views has also affected the public's impression of him.
