The screenwriter of Jigong: The Dragon Comes Down to the World denies plagiarism from Nezha: The Devil Child Comes into the World

After the release of the animated film Jigong: The Dragon Comes Down to the World, some viewers believed that it plagiarized Nezha: The Devil Child Comes into the World. On July 23, the film's screenwriter Zhang Ting denied the allegation: "I completed the script in June 2017."

It is reported that the name declared for "Jigong: The Dragon Comes into the World" when the project was launched in 2017 was "Jigong: The Venerable Qingyou". It was renamed "Jigong: The Dragon Comes into the World" on August 15, 2018. The title was determined nearly a year earlier than "Nezha: The Devil Child Comes into the World" which was released in July 2019.

Lin Jianbo, production director of "Jigong", said that before the release of "Nezha" in 2019, "Jigong" had completed 80% of the lighting preview samples of the entire film, so there was no plagiarism. "Audiences who are not in this industry do not understand that it takes a long time to produce an animated film, so there are misunderstandings."
