Director Neill Blomkamp: District 10 was inspired by events in American history

"District 9" director Neill Blomkamp recently revealed in an interview with IGN the content of "District 10", the sequel to "District 9" that fans have been looking forward to. The content of "District 10" will be different from "District 9". "District 9" was inspired by South African apartheid, while "District 10" was inspired by a historical event in the United States.

Neil said in an interview with IGN: "The script is still being written and the effect is good. I spent ten years thinking about why I wanted to make this movie. District 10 is not just a sequel. I think a famous event in American history fits the world view of District 9 very well, and I feel that a sequel based on this would be great."
