"Loki" director and executive producer Kate Herron has announced that she will not be directing the show's second season. Herron revealed the news in an interview with the media today, saying that her plan has always been to only shoot one season. She even hinted that there was no plan for a second season of "Loki". “I’m not coming back,” Herron said. “That was always the plan, and to be honest, there wasn’t originally going to be a season 2 — but it’s here, and I’m happy about it.” Herron seemed to mean that the second season of "Loki" was decided late in the production of the series. But she said she is happy to watch the next season as a viewer. “I’m very proud of everyone’s work and I’ve given it my all,” Herron said. “I’ll be working on another project that has not yet been announced.” However, the unannounced project she is involved in is not Marvel-related. She said that she is "focusing on some of my own stuff" now, but she loves Marvel and looks forward to working with them again one day in the future. Maybe she is biding her time to see if there are any lucrative new contracts, after all, Loki has brought her to new heights. Just like Matt Shakman, the director of WandaVision, signed a contract to direct a new Star Trek movie after the success of the series. There is no solid information about Rocky Season 2, and Herron also said that he is unaware of the details. There is not even a rough release date for Season 2, so it is better to relax and wait to see which movie will be connected to Season 2 after the finale of Rocky Season 1, or whether the finale of Season 1 will directly connect to the beginning of Season 2. Herron did reveal that the finale of Loki Season 1 will represent a "huge shift" for the MCU. |
