The TV anime series "The Knights of the Round Table: Burning Arthur", which aired from 1979 to 1980, is based on the traditional literature of Thomas Malory and depicts the adventures and growth of the young king Arthur. story

The story of Arthur, the young king who struggles to rebuild his ideal country, Logres, begins with a tragedy in his childhood. At the age of three, Arthur's parents were killed by the ambitious evil king Ravic and his Black Knights, and Camelot Castle was taken from him. He was rescued from the raging flames by the prophet and wizard Merlin. Merlin entrusted Arthur to the virtuous knight Sir Ector, who raised him in Greenwood Forest. At the age of fifteen, Arthur became eligible to become king of all Britain by pulling out the sacred sword Excalibur at a ceremony held at Canterbury Abbey on Easter Day. However, with neither country nor subordinates, Arthur embarks on a journey to recapture Camelot Castle and rebuild his ideal country.

During his journey, Arthur meets young, idealistic knights such as Lancelot, Percival, Tristan, and Galahad, and while deepening their friendship, they form a group of young knights. In search of the "Holy Shield," they travel from country to country, rescuing common people from evil nobles and bandits under the control of the evil king Ravic, and embarking on many adventures, including defeating monsters. In the end, they obtain the "Holy Shield," defeat the evil king Ravic and the sorceress Morgana, and build their ideal country, "Logres."
