This film was produced as a spin-off of the TV anime series "Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters" and features a completely original story. ■ Story

A shy boy, Yugi Muto, completes the inverted pyramid Millennium Puzzle, and another personality, the "Nameless Pharaoh," awakens within himself. At the same time, in Egypt, the equilateral pyramid puzzle resonates, and the evil shadow "Anubis" awakens. Anubis stands in front of Yugi, declaring himself "the one who will destroy the pharaoh and give birth to the next pharaoh."

Meanwhile, after being defeated by Yugi, Kaiba Seto, Yugi's rival, seeks powers that surpass those of the gods and confronts Pegasus, the creator of Duel Monsters, to obtain the "Card that Surpasses God". Yugi has a strange vision in front of the "Pyramid of Light Object" at the museum. The vision says, "When light and darkness intertwine, the King of Light will destroy the Divine Beasts of Darkness and erase the King of Darkness. When light is abundant, the King of Destruction will be resurrected." Yugi and Kaiba fall, and only the evil shadow survives.

Kaiba challenges Yugi and proposes a duel on the condition that he puts the three God cards in his deck. Yugi considers the meaning and destiny of the vision, and although he senses an evil power within him, he challenges Kaiba to a duel. Yugi will do everything in his power to change the predicted future.
