The TV anime series "Tactical Roar," broadcast in 2006, is set in the near future in maritime warfare and depicts the exploits of the female-crewed escort ship Pascal Mage. It was produced as an original anime work and aired on UHF radio for a total of 13 episodes. This work deeply moved viewers by depicting the courage and growth of girls who stand up against the threat of pirates while reaffirming the importance of ocean routes.

story

The story is set in the near future. A gigantic, stationary typhoon called "Grand Roar" suddenly appeared in the Western Pacific Ocean, causing major changes in the world's climate, rising sea levels and changing ocean currents, causing serious damage mainly in Asia. This natural disaster was called "Case Omega," and humanity left its mark on history.

50 years after the Grand Roa incident, humanity has achieved a recovery and the importance of ocean routes is reaffirmed, ushering in a second age of exploration. However, behind the scenes, modern, organized terrorists known as "pirates" have begun to operate in secret. To combat this, armed self-defense organizations have begun to be organized within private companies.

This work tells the story of the girls who board the civilian escort ship Pascal Mage, who face the threat of "pirates" in such a world. They fight to protect the peace of the seas using their courage and wisdom.

character

The protagonist, Misaki Nanami, is the captain of the Pascal Mage and a second class naval officer. She is an elite who graduated from the Federal Navy University's specialized course at the top of her class, and was headhunted by Haru-Nico Security to lead an escort ship with an all-female crew. Nanami has earned the trust of her crew by giving prompt instructions, but because she is a perfect person, she is also vulnerable to having her mental gaps exposed.

Tanya L. Kojima, the first officer, is a third class naval officer whom Nanami trusts the most. She is a contemporary of Nanami, and in terms of abilities she is no less capable than him. Tanya is always calm and has no flaws in her way of life, which has earned her many fans on the ship.

Flight chief Tsubasa Watazumi is a top-notch pilot of the "Seagull" aircraft aboard the Pascal Mage. She is strong-willed and hates whiny people, and has a hard time dealing with men.

Sango Fukami, the Chief Engineer, is a Captain in charge of the Pascal Mage's main engine cockpit. She has a strong sense of responsibility and is a genius at using machines, but she can also be a bit clumsy due to her misunderstandings. As she comes from an old family, she has a gentle demeanor and knows the proper etiquette of a Japanese woman.

Miharu Kairi, the head of information management, is a talented woman who is in charge of information processing and strategy planning. Her abilities are beyond the realm of humans, but she is extremely shy and has little ability for everyday life. She and Sango make a surprisingly good team.

The artillery officer, Cleo Aquanaut, is the artillery officer of Pascal Mages and has a super nice body. His judgment and analytical skills in battle are outstanding, and he is popular with women.

Manatsu and Maaki Akoya are twin sisters who are in charge of collecting and analyzing various information at CIC. Although they are calm and collected at work, they can be paranoid in their private lives, and may come across as bad-tempered to ordinary people.

The Chief Medical Officer, Kantori Shimabara, is a Captain in charge of managing the health of the Pascal Mage's crew. As a licensed medical officer, she also provides psychological counseling and is a good confidant for the protagonist and other female characters.

Nagimiya Hyousuke is a technical staff member at the Ogasawara Technology Research Institute, which provides technology to Pascal Mage. He is smart but timid. He is dispatched to Pascal Mage to update the ship's system, where he reunites with Nanami.
