Monster Step Wandabada - A children's space adventure and friendship story

Overview

"Kaiju Step Wandabada" is a TV anime series based on the original work by Tsuburaya Productions that aired on NHK Educational TV from September 27, 2019 to March 27, 2020. There are 26 episodes in total, each of which is only 5 minutes long, but it is packed with stories that teach children courage and friendship. It was directed by Umoto Yuji and animated by Usagi Oh.

■ Story

Far away in space, on the planet Chochii in the K10 Nebula. On this planet, baby monsters play happily every day. They cry, laugh, run around, make a fuss, burrow into the ground, and even breathe fire. Pig-chan, who came to this planet, started a "Monster Shop" with his friends Kane-chan and Dada-chan. When he lacks courage and is about to give up, he shouts out "Wonderbudder!" out loud to muster up the courage to take a step forward.

The main character of this anime is Pigg-chan (voiced by Kuno Misaki), who goes on an adventure with her friends Kane-chan (voiced by Fukuen Misato) and Dada-chan (voiced by Shindo Kei). Other unique characters include Miku-chan (voiced by Neiro), Gomo-chan (voiced by Watanabe Akino), Krelon-chan (voiced by Iwasaki Ryota), No-chan (voiced by Hara Ryoko), Kem-chan (voiced by Han Megumi), Joe-chan (voiced by Hiiro), and Red (voiced by Seki Tomokazu).

Character design was by Kihara Yosuke, director Umoto Yuji, series composition by Aochi Ryosuke, scripts by Miura Ariko, Sato Shinji, Yamada Yuka, and Ito Kimihisa, music by Tateyama Akiko, and the opening theme by Keropons.
