Sony Pictures quietly withdraws Street Fighter live-action movie from release in March 2026

The live-action movie adapted from Capcom's classic fighting game masterpiece "Street Fighter" was originally scheduled to be released nationwide in the United States on March 20, 2026. However, according to foreign media reports, Sony Pictures has quietly withdrawn the release schedule of the live-action movie "Street Fighter".

The Street Fighter live-action movie project has been officially announced for quite some time. The film is jointly launched by Sony Pictures and Capcom, but the progress is unclear at present, and the key actors and actresses have not yet been officially announced.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kate Sakurai, the director of Netflix's film "The Road," has been invited to direct the film. It is not yet known whether the film can continue to be produced and released.
