"Alien Queen" Sigourney Weaver arrived at the Venice Film Festival, where she will be awarded the Golden Lion Award for Lifetime Achievement. In an interview with Deadline, Sigourney Weaver confirmed that she will star in the Star Wars movie for the first time, namely The Mandalorian and Googu. The actress, who has starred in "Alien," "Avatar" and "Ghostbusters," told Deadline that "The Mandalorian and Googu" are the next films she is preparing to shoot. She said: "I met Gugu for the first time the other day and I'm going to be filming this movie before I go to London to film The Tempest at the end of the year." Weaver wouldn't reveal what character she's playing or the nature of her role, though. She added: "I can't say too much yet, but it's been fun jumping between all these different universes." "The Mandalorian & Gugu" is the first "Star Wars" movie to be released in theaters by Disney since "Star Wars 9: The Rise of Skywalker" in 2019. It is directed by Jon Favreau and is currently scheduled to be released on May 22, 2026. Sigourney Weaver: |
