Lu Han stars in Shanghai Fortress, set to be released in 2019

Recently, the sci-fi war movie "Shanghai Fortress", directed by the famous director Teng Huatao and adapted from the novel of the same name by Jiang Nan, released its concept poster for the first time and announced that the film will be released in 2019. The film also announced the starring lineup, with Lu Han and Shu Qi as partners in the film.

"Shanghai Fortress" tells the story of the Earth being threatened by alien forces in 2042, who attempt to seize human energy. In order to resist the invasion, countries form a joint army, but unexpectedly, the first-tier cities of various countries are lost one after another, and Shanghai Fortress is about to be invaded. At this time, Wang Yang, a college student played by Lu Han, will follow the female commander Lin Lan to join forces to resist.

The film was produced by China Television Entertainment, which has always been known for its principle of developing projects based on popular IPs, such as So Young and Ordinary World.

As a famous fantasy writer, Jiang Nan's representative works include "Shanghai Fortress", "Dragon Clan" and "Nine Provinces: Piaomiao Record". He is a leader in best-selling novels and a representative of mainland fantasy literature. This time, Jiang Nan also personally participated in the script creation and served as a screenwriter with Han Jinglong. The film is directed by Teng Huatao, one of the sixth generation of outstanding directors in China. Teng Huatao revealed that he has been preparing for the filming of "Shanghai Fortress", a science fiction war film, for five years, and it took three years to polish the script alone. He said: "The Chinese film market has great potential for development, and we need to give the audience some films with sufficient industrial production standards." As the Chinese director of "Kung Fu Panda 3" released last year, Teng Huatao said that he has gained a lot from the cooperation with the first-class Hollywood film production industry system, which also provided reference and help for his preparation of "Shanghai Fortress".

The film will be released in 2019.
