John Williams has revealed that Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade may be his last film, and the same may be said for Harrison Ford. In a recent interview, Hollywood film composer John Williams revealed that he plans to retire from the film industry after the release of the latest "Indiana Jones" film. Williams said: "When I was working with Harrison Ford on Indiana Jones 5, and Harrison, who was much younger than me, announced that this would be his last movie, I thought, if Harrison can do it, maybe I can too." Of course, Ford has not publicly stated that "Indiana Jones 5" will be his last film. However, judging from the interview content, he may have discussed this possibility privately with Williams. “I don’t want to be seen as someone who can’t participate in anything,” Williams said with a laugh. “I can’t play tennis, but I want to believe that maybe one day I will play tennis.” Williams explained that the Star Wars movies took about six months to make, saying that "this period of my life was a long-term commitment for me." In reality, Williams wanted to make his own music, including a piano concerto he wrote for Emanuelle Ax. I don't know if this means that there will be no more Star Wars films with his soundtracks. If Indiana Jones 5 is really his last film soundtrack, then Disney and Lucasfilm need to find a replacement as soon as possible. "Star Wars" doesn't have to worry about Harrison Ford anymore, after all, Han Solo has been killed by his own son Kylo Ren. Indiana Jones 5 is set to be released on June 30, 2023. |
