The first batch of reviews for the live-action Borderlands movie are out

The much-anticipated live-action Borderlands movie is almost here, but the first reviews have been disappointing, leaving some fans furious.

Although the official review ban has not yet been lifted, some critics who have screened the film in advance have shared their first impressions on social media, and these reviews are mostly negative.

Critics generally believe that the live-action movie "Borderlands" lacks novelty and has a mediocre plot. It has even been accused of being a "poor imitation of "Guardians of the Galaxy". The character creation has also been criticized, especially the image of Tiny Tina, which is very different from the setting in the game. The chemistry between the actors is also very insufficient, and the overall performance is mediocre. Only Jack Black's robot Claypool Trap has received some recognition.

While the Borderlands movie received poor reviews, it's worth noting that Super Mario Bros.: The Movie faced similarly negative reviews but ultimately became a huge box office success and had a sequel greenlit. Perhaps Borderlands will be able to make a comeback, but it looks like fan expectations for the film have hit rock bottom.

There was news before that the second part of the "Borderlands" movie will continue to be produced, but from the current perspective, the sequel needs to show more sincerity and innovation to satisfy the audience's taste, otherwise it will only increase disappointment.

The movie "Borderlands" will be released in North America on August 9.
