Willem Dafoe to star in western 'A Fistful of Dollars'

Christoph Waltz and Willem Dafoe will star in the western film "Dead For A Dollar", which will be written and directed by Walter Hill ("Crossroads").

Set in 1897 in the Chihuahua region of New Mexico, the film follows renowned bounty hunter Max Bolender (Christopher) who is hired to find and bring back Rachel Price, the wife of successful Santa Fe businessman Nathan Price. Max is told that she has been kidnapped by African-American Army deserter Elijah Jones and is being held in Mexico for ransom. When Max arrives south of the border, he soon runs into his nemesis, expatriate Joe Cribbens (William), a professional gambler and former fugitive who Max had hunted down and sent to prison years ago.

When Max finds Rachel and Elijah deep in the Mexican desert, he discovers that Rachel had voluntarily fled her abusive husband, and that the soldier who escaped was actually her love interest. Max is now faced with a dilemma: does he return Rachel to the border, to the man who hired her, or help Rachel's bid for freedom by fighting off the ruthless mercenary and his longtime rival, Joe Cribbens?
