The director of the live-action version of "Gundam" movie: This movie is for newcomers

In mid-April this year, Netflix announced that it would shoot a live-action version of "Gundam", and it has been two months now. Recently, Jordan Vogt-Roberts, the director of the live-action version of "Gundam", was interviewed by the foreign media "Entertainment Weekly". In the interview, he said that this movie is for newcomers (who have not been exposed to Gundam).

Jordan Vogt-Roberts, director of the live-action version of "Gundam", said in an interview: "My goal is to make all the audiences who may watch this movie watch it. For example, some audiences are the kind of 'I don't know where to start watching Gundam'. I think this movie can give this kind of audience an entry point. I can say this,'This movie is where you start (watching Gundam). This is your entry point. Maybe Gundam fans will say,'Yes, this is the Gundam I saw.' The live-action version of "Gundam" may be a mixture of several different things and different timelines. I hope that newcomers will think after watching the movie,'Should I chase this thing?'"

Brian K. Vaughan, screenwriter of "Runaways" and "Lost", will write the script and also serve as executive producer of the film.

Netflix will be responsible for the global online broadcast of the film, Legendary Pictures will be responsible for the distribution in China. The release date of the film has not yet been announced. Cale Boyter will be responsible for the supervision of the film on behalf of Legendary Pictures and Sunrise Studios. Jason Young, the director of Netflix original films, will also be in charge of the project.
