Henry Cavill to star in '80s reboot of 'Highlander'

Lionsgate is investing in a new version of "Highlander" starring Henry Cavill and directed by "John Wick" director Chad Stahelski.

Cavill himself confirmed the news today. According to media reports, the film is a reboot of the 1980s fantasy action-adventure film "Highlander".

Cavill said on social media that he has been a fan of "Highlander" since he was a child and is looking forward to working with Chad Stahelski.

The original Highlander was released in 1986 and starred Clancy Brown, Sean Connery and Christopher Lambert as immortal warriors who hunt each other. Highlander spawned four sequels and three TV series. No information has been released about the plot of this reboot.
