Today (March 13), Shanghai Xinchuanghua, the Chinese agent of the "Ultraman" trademark, issued an announcement to formally sue the "Ultraman Burger". The case will go to trial on May 24, 2021.

Official Announcement

Regarding the unauthorized use of the registered trademarks "Ultraman, ULTRAMAN" by the "Ultraman Burger" and "Ultraman Burger" restaurants, our company has formally filed a lawsuit with the Xuhui District People's Court of Shanghai. The case will go to trial on May 24, 2021.

Tsuburaya Productions Co., Ltd. is the holder of the "Ultraman, ULTRAMAN" series of trademarks, and has exclusively licensed the trademark usage rights in mainland China to Shanghai Xinchuanghua Cultural Development Co., Ltd. Any unauthorized use of the "Ultraman, ULTRAMAN" series of trademarks without the permission of our company will be suspected of infringement, and our company reserves the right to pursue legal liability.

The "Ultraman" series is a well-known special effects video work known to everyone. It enjoys extremely high popularity, fame and reputation around the world. Mainland China is no exception. We firmly resist any acts of "copying famous brands", "riding on the popularity" and "free riding", which infringe on the intellectual property rights of the "Ultraman" series.

Perhaps many franchisees of "Ultraman Burger" and "Ultraman Castle" stores do not understand the ownership of the "Ultraman, ULTRAMAN" trademarks. Please feel free to contact us to verify.
