IMDb announces the top 10 most anticipated films of 2020

IMDb, the world's leading film database, has released their list of the "10 Most Anticipated Films of 2020" through TheWrap. Although we have experienced record-breaking blockbusters such as "Avengers 4" and "Joker" in 2019, the 2020 lineup still looks very worth looking forward to! It is worth mentioning that four of the top ten films were directed by female directors.

IMDb's "Top 10 Most Anticipated Movies of 2020":

10. Fast and Furious 9

Fast & Furious 9 is directed by Justin Lin, who has directed four Fast & Furious movies. After rumors of discord between Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel, Johnson and Jason Statham launched the spin-off movie Fast & Furious Hobbs & Shaw this year, which also led to Fast & Furious 9 giving way to it and was postponed to May 2020.

Fast & Furious 9 is led by Vin Diesel, with the original cast continuing to star, and Charlize Theron returning to play the villain Cipher. Cardi B also starred in the film, but her specific role was not disclosed.

Foreign media previously reported that Brian O'Connor, played by Paul Walker, may return to "Fast & Furious 9" and the crew is currently casting for Brian's stand-in, but Universal Pictures has not yet responded to the news.

It will be released in North America on May 22, 2020.

9. Kingsman: The Golden Circle

When the most brutal tyrants and criminal masterminds in history gather together to plot a bloody war that could kill millions of people around the world, a great gentleman steps forward. With the help of his son, a trusted assistant, and the ultimate in style and equipment, they will race against time to prevent this tragedy from happening. This is the birth of "Kingsman".

The prequel "Kingsman: The Golden Circle" will return in 2020. The new work will be directed by Matthew Vaughn, the ace director of "Kingsman", who will lead everyone to explore the origin of the first independent intelligence agency of the great "Kingsman". "

Released on September 18, 2020.

8. Dune

The film was produced by Legendary Pictures and adapted from Frank Herbert's novel. Villeneuve and Eric Roth (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) co-wrote the script. The story revolves around the future world of Arrakis. The family of the young Paul controls Arrakis, and when his family is betrayed, the jurisdiction of Arrakis becomes more controversial.

Dune was adapted into a movie in 1984, directed by David Lynch and starring Kyle MacLachlan, Sean Young and other stars. However, this version of Dune was too profound and obscure, so it did not achieve box office success.

"Dune" is full of themes about politics, religion, and the complex relationship between humans and nature.

Released on November 20, 2020.

7. Wonder Woman 2

The story of "Wonder Woman 2" is set in the 1980s during the Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union. The thick disco background music in the trailer reinforces the characteristics of this era. In the trailer, we can see that Wonder Woman's combat power has been upgraded, and the new golden eagle armor is also very cool, with stronger combat power, and the lasso of truth can catch lightning and fly into the sky and hide underground.

Chris Pine, who played the heroine's boyfriend in the previous film and died heroically in the end, appeared in the video. Diana's longing for him has paid off, but what's the secret? Max Lord, a new character played by Pedro Pascal, the "Red Viper" in "Game of Thrones", also made his debut in the trailer. Lord, a mysterious rich man, is making trouble online. The seemingly kind-hearted Leopard Woman is not simple.
