In the "Mortal Kombat" movie, Ludi Lin plays the Shaolin monk Liu Kang, Meiqing Huang plays the Shaolin monk Kung Lao, Jinghan Huang plays Shang Chong, Tadanobu Asano plays Raiden, Hiroyuki Sanada plays Scorpion, Lewis Tan plays the new character Cole Young, Joe Taslim plays Absolute Zero, Australian rising star Sisi Stringe plays Mileena, Mehcad Brooks plays the special forces soldier Jackson Jax Briggs, Jessica McNamee plays Sonya Blade, and Josh Lawson plays Kano.
