"Parasite" director Bong Joon-ho has now finished writing the script for one of the two film projects he wants to shoot next. In a recent interview, Bong Joon-ho said that although he felt exhausted at the beginning of 2020, he was able to regroup and complete something in this increasingly turbulent year. Bong Joon-ho revealed in The Atlantic and Vision magazine in 2019 that he was preparing an English-language film and a Korean-language film, but he did not announce which film the script was for. Bong Joon-ho said: "It feels like my brain was divided into two halves when I was writing these two scripts. But I finally finished one last week." Vision Magazine reported: "Neither of the two film projects is a big budget. It is about the same scale as Parasite and Mother. The Korean film is set in Seoul and has unique horror and action elements. It is difficult to define the genre of these films of mine. The English film is a drama based on true events that happened in 2016. Of course, I don’t know what the specific content is until the script is completed, but the scenes are half in the UK and half in the United States." Now that the script has just been completed, it will take some time to find out the release date and cast list of the new film. Bong Joon-ho is unlikely to reveal any news about the HBO series "Parasite" that he will be working on with Adam McKay, the director of "Vice". In 2019, "Parasite" received six Oscar nominations and won four awards, including Best Picture. |
