The Resident Evil reboot is set to be released on September 3

Today (February 5), according to foreign media Deadline, the "Resident Evil" reboot movie has finally been scheduled, and Sony Pictures officially announced that the film will be released in North America on September 3 this year.

It is reported that the "Resident Evil" reboot movie is more faithful to the game and origin story. The film is directed by Johannes Roberts ("Meet the Shark") and stars Kaya Scodelario ("Skins", "Maze Runner", "Pirates of the Caribbean 5") as Claire Redfield, Hannah John-Kamen ("Ant-Man 2", "Ready Player One") as Jill Valentine, Robbie Amell ("The Flash") as Chris Redfield, Tom Hooper ("The Umbrella Academy") as Albert Wesker, Avan Jogia ("Zombieland 2") as Leon S. Kennedy, and Neal McDonough ("Yellowstone") as William Birkin.

The story of the "Resident Evil" reboot movie takes place on a fateful night in Raccoon City in 1998. Director Roberts hopes that the style of the film will return to the first two games, "to find that visceral horror experience and tell a story about a dying American town."
