Netflix's live-action Legend of Zelda TV series has been canceled, sources say

It is reported that the live-action "Legend of Zelda" TV series project that Netflix and Nintendo jointly developed in 2015 has been canceled.

The above news comes from American comedian Adam Conover. In a recent podcast event, he revealed that he was discussing with Nintendo about a clay animation project based on Star Fox. Adam Conover revealed at the event that he had secretly collaborated with Nintendo on the Star Fox clay animation project while working at collegehumor. One weekend, he learned that Shigeru Miyamoto would visit the studio and told his boss that he wanted to attend the event, but was rejected by the boss. He is still angry with the boss until now.

Adam Conover then revealed that a month later, he suddenly heard that Netflix would no longer continue to produce "The Legend of Zelda". Later, the "Star Fox" project they cooperated with Nintendo was also cancelled. The answer the actor got from his boss was that because someone from Netflix leaked the live-action "The Legend of Zelda" series, Nintendo was scared and stopped all projects.

As early as 2015, the Wall Street Journal first reported on Netflix's live-action version of The Legend of Zelda, calling it "Game of Thrones for family audiences." Two weeks after the report was released, then-Nintendo President Satoru Iwata said in an interview that the Wall Street report was inaccurate.

As "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" has reached the peak of the series in terms of sales, the influence of this IP is unprecedentedly huge.
