Wonder Woman beats Pixar to become the weekly viewership champion

According to Nielsen ratings data, Warner Media's "Wonder Woman 1984" defeated Pixar's "Soul" by 35% to become the ratings champion in the last week of December.

Nielsen has not yet officially launched a ratings survey for streaming platforms, but it released a prime-time ratings data for the last week of December (21-27) last year, which only involves home TV users:

As can be seen from the above table, "Wonder Woman 1984" not only surpassed Disney's family animation, but also defeated Netflix's popular series "The Office" and "Bridgerton".

Benefiting from the driving effect of "Heroes", the number of HBO Max account openings doubled to 17.2 million by the end of the fourth quarter of 2020 - this figure includes HBO Max accounts obtained for free by HBO subscribers and users who participated in the trial, who may not necessarily become signed subscribers.

As of December last year, the total number of HBO Max and HBO users was 41.5 million, a 20% increase from the previous year, but there is still a considerable gap with its competitors.

Fortunately, there will be a re-edited version of "Justice League" by Zack Snyder in March, and the number of HBO Max accounts will surely reach a new high by then:

It is not clear whether the theatrical version of "Justice League" that Zack Snyder is looking forward to can be made. Considering the length of this version and the current epidemic, it is very difficult to land on the big screen.

<<:  The director's cut of Justice League will be released a week early and will be broadcast on HBO Max on March 18

>>:  Genius gambling girl "Kakegurui" Japanese drama multiple characters makeup photos will be broadcast on March 26
