Tsuburaya and Marvel announced that they will launch a joint comic "Ultraman: Spider-Man is Coming" to start serialization on August 13

At a recent San Diego Comic-Con panel, comic publisher Viz Media announced that they are working with Tsuburaya and Marvel to launch a comic book crossover between Ultraman and Spider-Man titled Ultraman: Here Comes Spider-Man.

It is reported that the comic "Ultraman: Spider-Man Comes" will be drawn by Kiryuga ("Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization"), and the script will be written by Shigenobu Matsumoto ("Duel Masters"). The original script will be completed by Tsuburaya Productions and Shinji Oishi.

Viz Media will release the first two chapters of the English version on its Viz Manga app starting August 13th, US time, and Shogakukan will distribute the manga in Japan starting August 14th, Japan time. Going forward, the two companies will release new chapters of the manga every Tuesday.

Tsuburaya's description of the manga:

On Marvel Earth, Spider-Man and the Avengers face off against Doctor Doom in New York, but when several civilians are killed in a building collapse, Spider-Man becomes demoralized and finds himself being taken away on a strange ship called the Dimension Train. Doctor Doom sneaks aboard, and the two find themselves in Tokyo, Ultraman Universe! Witnessing Ultraman's battle against a gigantic monster, Doctor Doom craves the power of the Giant of Light and teams up with Mephilas and his army of monsters to steal it from the Monster Graveyard.

In addition, Marvel's "Ultraman x Avengers" comic series, which is co-produced with Tsuburaya Company, will also launch the fourth issue on August 14.
