Uncle Ba on taking on the role of Grindelwald: It won't be completely different from Depp's wonderful performance

Mads Mikkelsen will replace Johnny Depp in Fantastic Beasts 3 to play Grindelwald, which was confirmed by Warner Bros. last January. In a recent interview, Mads Mikkelsen also talked about his thoughts on taking on this role.

When asked how his version of Grindelwald would differ from Depp's, the actor joked: "Well, it's going to be me playing the part, I guess that's the difference."

Then Uncle Ba responded seriously to this question: "This is a tricky part. We are still thinking about the solution. There needs to be a bridge between what Johnny has done and what I am about to do, and at the same time I have to make something of my own. We need to find some connections and bridges (with Depp's version of the role) that will not completely deviate from the superb performance he has already achieved."

Due to the actor replacement controversy, the release date of "Fantastic Beasts 3" has also been postponed to summer 2022 (previously planned to be released in November 2021).
