Hideo Kojima: Death Stranding movie is more than just a game adaptation

Earlier, Kojima Studios and film production company A24 announced a collaboration to shoot a live-action movie of Kojima Studios' Death Stranding game. Producer Hideo Kojima, who serves as the game director and screenwriter, revealed more information about the movie.

"There have been so many 'game-to-movie' adaptations, but what we want to do is more than just a direct 'translation' of the game, something that will not only satisfy gamers but also excite movie fans," the developer said in a statement on its website.

"We will create a world of Death Stranding that has never been seen before, a world that only movies can create." Kojima later added that he believed A24's "innovative narrative approach" was consistent with what he had done over the past eight years.

Kojima has always been a big spender on "chasing stars with public funds", and this time he is also working with his favorite A24 production company. Previously, Kojima praised the prequel to "X", "Pearl", and also said that he is a fan of "Reply Me" and "Marcel the Shell in Shoes".
