Tom Holland almost has a draft of the plot for next Spider-Man movie

Sony Pictures and Marvel are continuing to work on the next Spider-Man movie starring Tom Holland, but how is it going? Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige said he is currently developing the film with producer Amy Pascal.

“The writers will give us a draft of the script soon,” he said.

In April, Holland himself commented on the future of the franchise, saying that a team of "the best minds in the business" was working on "any possible story" for the next film. Holland said he was very careful to protect the legacy of the franchise.

"Until we come up with something good, we have to protect that legacy," he said. "The third movie is very special in so many ways, so we need to make sure we do the right thing."

Prior to this, Holland had said that he considered leaving the Spider-Man series and passing the torch to someone else to play the role. However, if the story is good enough, Holland is still eager to return to star in another movie.

"Whether we can find a way to do justice to the character is another story," Holland said in 2023. "I'm very protective of the character of Spider-Man. I feel very fortunate that we've been able to be part of a franchise that gets better and more successful with each movie, which I think is really rare, and I want to protect his legacy. So, I'm not going to do another sequel just for the sake of doing another sequel. This movie has to be worthy of the character."

To date, Holland has starred in three major Spider-Man films, including Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), and Spider-Man: No Homecoming (2021). Holland has also played Spider-Man in multiple Avengers films.

In addition to the next Spider-Man movie starring Holland, a Spider-Woman movie is also in the works and is coming "sooner than expected."
