Joaquin Phoenix to play Napoleon in new film 'Soldier's Bag'

According to foreign media Deadline: Ridley Scott will direct and new Oscar winner Joaquin Phoenix will star in the new film "Kitbag". Phoenix will play Napoleon Bonaparte, the first emperor of France.

Written by David Scarpa (All the Money in the World), the film is a blockbuster about Napoleon's origin story and his path to becoming emperor. It unfolds from the perspective of his wife Josephine, and will include Napoleon's famous battles, his endless ambition, and his astonishing tactical mind as a military strategist. The title of the film comes from a famous saying of this French military strategist and politician: "Every soldier has a marshal's baton in his bag."

The film is still produced by 20th Century Fox. Scott plans to make this film after directing "Gucci" starring Lady Gaga. "Gucci" is expected to start shooting in Italy in March next year. The old man has just finished shooting his new film "The Last Duel" and is full of energy.
