The producer of "Battle of Two Cities" wants to adapt Takehiko Inoue's "Vagabond"

Recently, Pascal Charu, founder of Fortiche Studio, the producer of "League of Legends: War of Two Cities", said in an interview with foreign media that he wanted to adapt Takehiko Inoue's manga "Vagabond" into an animated series.

Charu said: "Vagabond is a masterpiece with great depth and excellent painting skills. It would be very exciting if it were adapted into an animation."

"Rurouni Kenshin", also known as "Ronin Swordsman", is the work of Japanese cartoonist Takehiko Inoue, adapted from Yoshikawa Eiji's novel "Miyamoto Musashi". The swordsman Miyamoto Musashi is the hero of the book, and it describes the stage of adolescence, the turning point of the late Warring States period and the Edo period, and the age of swords.

This work incorporates Takehiko Inoue's personal thoughts and has been serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Morning magazine since 1998. The total number of comics published in Japan has exceeded 60 million. This work has not yet been adapted into an animation in Japan.

"When considering a manga adaptation, it's important to pick works that can be made better through animation," Charu said of the transition from manga to anime. "I've been disappointed with a lot of adaptations because the pace of manga is controlled by the reader, which doesn't always translate well to animation."

Charu said he was impressed by 2022's Cyberpunk: Edge Runner. "Due to time constraints, I don't watch as many animations as I used to, but this animation directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi impressed me. I initially watched it out of curiosity because it was also adapted from a game. Although it is very different from League of Legends, they successfully incorporated emotion into the story, which is also what I want to achieve in my own work."
