Sci-fi horror film sequel "Megan 2" has officially started filming

According to Jason Blum, boss of production company Blumhouse, the sequel to the horror film "Megan", "M3GAN 2.0", has now begun production in New Zealand, and first-stage actors Violet McGraw and Allison Williams are also expected to return.

He announced the news on Twitter, posting a chilling GIF of a robot Google underneath Megan's shell. The film's producer wrote: "It's time to put Megan back together."

The first Megan movie was directed by Gerard Johnstone and tells the horror story of what happens after a genius roboticist named Gemma invents a robot friend for her niece Cardy, whose parents have passed away. Because Gemma is too busy with work to take care of her niece, she inputs the robot with the instruction to "protect Cardy from physical and emotional harm", but this leads to terrible results. Megan begins to overprotect her niece and starts to attack anyone it deems a threat.

The second film will be co-written by Johnstone and Akela Cooper, the screenwriter of the first film, and Johnstone will return to direct, but the plot is still under wraps. Fans have long speculated whether the film will recall the Terminator, and the characters will join forces with Megan to deal with a greater threat.
