Sony Pictures executives revealed: Spider-Man 3 has started filming and will be released in December

According to IGN, at ExpoCine 2020, Camila Pacheco, executive marketing director of Sony Pictures Entertainment Brazil, announced that Spider-Man 3 has begun production and the official will release the first wave of news in December 2020.

The news also revealed that Spider-Man 3 will maintain its planned release date. Movie blog Collider also revealed that the film crew has camped in Queens, New York to prepare for filming, but the main actors were not present at the scene.

Spider-Man 3 is currently scheduled to be released in North America on December 17, 2021. It is the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home. Jon Watts will continue to direct, Holland will return to play Spider-Man, Zendaya and others are expected to return, and Benedict Cumberbatch will play Doctor Strange and Jamie Foxx will play Electro.

Previously, foreign media fandomwire reported that there were rumors that Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire had signed to join Tom Holland's version of "Spider-Man 3". The new series will see the live-action Spider-Man universe linked for the first time. The three Spider-Men will cooperate in the final battle to fight against enemies from multiple universes, similar to "Avengers 4".
