According to Japanese media reports today, October 13, Izumi Matsumoto, the author of the classic manga "Orange Road" serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" in the 1980s, died on October 6 due to cerebrospinal fluid depletion at the age of 61.

· Izumi Matsumoto was born on October 13, 1958 in Toyama Prefecture, Japan. He studied fashion design at a technical secondary school and began his creative activities, contributing to the editorial department of a juvenile magazine. In 1982, his debut work "Milk Report" was published in "FRESHJUMP". So far, he has published many works mainly in juvenile and youth magazines.

When Matsumoto Izumi first entered the art world, he took the comedy route, with eccentric, pretentious, and incoherent gags filling his works. Starting with the publication of "Orange Street's Economic Panic" in 1983, his works began to turn to the romantic comic route. His masterpiece "Orange Road" was serialized in the weekly "Shonen Jump" in 1983 and became a sensation. It was made into a movie.
