Fast & Furious 9 postponed again to May 28, 2021

Universal Pictures has delayed the release of Fast & Furious 9 again, but this time the delay is not as big as the one announced in March this year. In March this year, Fast & Furious 9 was postponed from the original May 22 to April 2, 2021. Today, Universal announced that the new release date will be May 28, 2021, which happens to be Memorial Day weekend in the United States.

It is understood that "Fast & Furious 9" was completed in November last year and is currently in the post-production stage. Director Justin Lin has successfully directed three "Fast & Furious" series films before, and is considered an old friend of the series.

Earlier, there were reports that the film would be shot in many places including London and Cape Town. Finally, Vin Diesel confidently said, "Except for Paul Walker, nothing will remain unchanged, and this series will continue forever." His words seemed to indicate that "Fast and Furious" has not come to the end of its life.

Earlier, there were media reports that the entire Fast and Furious series will end after the ninth and tenth installments. There are also reports that Fast and Furious 9 will lean towards "science fiction" in terms of plot, which is not a problem for Justin Lin, the director of the Fast and Furious series, after all, the Chinese-American director previously shot Star Trek Beyond.

In terms of the cast alone, Fast & Furious 9 is indeed quite ambitious. In addition to Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris and other members of the "Lumberjacks", Charlize Theron, who appeared in Fast & Furious 8, also returns to the series to continue playing the villain. Helen Mirren returns to play the mother of the Shaw family, and John Cena and Paul Walker's brother are also added, which is extremely exciting.
