Hollywood live-action version of "Your Name." changes director and screenwriter

According to the latest news released by Deadline, the director and screenwriter of the Hollywood adaptation of "Your Name." have now changed. Lee Isaac Chung, the director of "Abigail Hamm", "Freedom Day", "Minari" and other films, will be responsible for the screenwriting and directing of the film.

In 2019, the film was announced to be directed by Marc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man, 500 Days of Summer), and Lee Isaac Chung will continue to write Emily V. Gordon's second version of the film script. The first version of the script was written by Eric Heisserer, the screenwriter of Arrival.

Lee Isaac Chung's Filmography

At present, the script description of this live-action film has also changed. The original protagonist was a young Native American woman (Indian woman) living in a rural area and a young man from Chicago. "They found that they would intermittently exchange bodies. When disaster strikes and threatens their lives, they must embark on a journey to find each other and work to save the world." Now the protagonist of the movie has become "a pair of boys and girls", but the description of exchanging bodies and saving the world has not changed.

The live-action version of "Your Name." was produced by Paramount and Bad Robot Productions in collaboration with Japan's Toho Co., Ltd.
