"Mulan" casting special released: Liu Yifei is the only one who can play the role of Mulan

Today (August 26), the casting feature of "Mulan" was released. Director Niki Caro talked about the casting process, saying that it was a long and extensive search, and when she was in the same room with Liu Yifei, she realized that "we had found our warrior." Liu Yifei said that she had a strong connection with Mulan, saying that the character had a strong sense of presence and concentration.

Disney's live-action film "Mulan" stars Liu Yifei, Donnie Yen, Gong Li, Jet Li, Li Jie, An Youxin and others, and is directed by Niki Caro ("The Zookeeper's Wife" and "Whale Rider"). It is adapted from the Disney animation of the same name based on Chinese folk legends. It tells the story of Mulan disguising herself as a man and joining the army in place of her father. She breaks the fate of being a "good wife" and is about to fight and face her true self.

"Mulan" will be released on Disney+ in North America on September 4, released in Taiwan, China on September 4, released in South Korea on September 10, and the release date in mainland China theaters is yet to be determined.
