Universal Pictures to reboot 1996 classic disaster film "Twister"

According to foreign media reports, Universal Pictures plans to remake the 1996 classic disaster film "Twister"! Joseph Kosinski ("Tron: Legacy" and "Oblivion") is in talks to direct. The original film starred Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt, and tells the story of a couple on the verge of divorce who chase tornadoes together for research.

"Twister" is a representative of disaster films in the 1990s. It has a very strong lineup behind the scenes. Director Jan De Bont has directed "Speed", screenwriter Michael Crichton is the original author of "Jurassic Park", and the producer is the famous Steven Spielberg.

The film was invested with 92 million US dollars and grossed 494 million US dollars worldwide, which is better than similar works such as Geostorm, Into the Storm and The Hurricane in recent years. By the way, the film has also been introduced to mainland China. Those who have seen it in the cinema can raise their hands.

The cast of the reboot is not yet clear, but since Bill Paxton died unexpectedly during heart surgery a few years ago, it is unfortunately impossible for the original cast to return.
