Disney's live-action movie chief leaves after 15 years

According to an exclusive report by foreign media Deadline: There has been another major change in the senior management of Disney Movies. The boss of the live-action film department, Sean Bailey, president of Walt Disney Pictures, has resigned, effective immediately.

David Greenbaum, co-president of Searchlight Pictures, will succeed him and take on a new position: president of Disney's live-action film division and president of 20th Century Pictures. Greenbaum will report to Alan Bergman, co-president of Disney Entertainment, while current 20th Century Pictures president Steve Asbell will retain his current position and report to Greenbaum.

Bailey worked at Disney Studios for 15 years. His first movie was TRON: Legacy, and his last movie was TRON: War, which is currently being filmed. He is best known for his live-action adaptations of many classic Disney animations, such as Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and a series of princess films, as well as The Lion King, The Jungle Book, Lady and the Tramp, Pinocchio, and Peter Pan and Wendy. He issued a statement to express his best wishes to his Disney colleagues for the future.

There were rumors that Bailey was going to take a senior position at Netflix to replace Scott Staub, who was about to leave, but Deadline said sources said this was not the case.

Greenbaum previously worked with Matthew Greenfield at Searchlight, and the personnel change also means that the two will separate. The duo has gained a good reputation in the industry, and this year's "Poor Things" performed well during the Oscars season.
