Mad Max 5 to start filming next year, director doesn't want to use digital de-aging technology

Five years ago, Mad Max 4 was released in North America. Today is the fifth anniversary of the film's release. Director George Miller confirmed in an interview with foreign media that he will return to direct Mad Max 5, which is scheduled to start shooting in 2021 without digital de-aging technology.

It is reported that "Mad Max 5" will be the prequel to "Mad Max 4: Fury Road", with Furiosa as the protagonist (originally played by Charlize Theron).

Since director George Miller does not want to use digital de-aging technology and plans to use new young actresses, Charlize Theron will not return. George Miller explained that the CG feeling of "The Irishman" which used digital de-aging technology before was still very obvious and made people feel uncomfortable.

Mad Max 4: Fury Road tells the story of a former highway patrolman named Max who becomes the driver of a Furiosa chariot and takes five women across the desert. Mad Max is a series of apocalyptic and dystopian films created by George Miller. The film started in the late 1970s. The first episode focused on revenge, the second episode focused on hope, and the subsequent films were even more ambitious.
