Japanese comics online piracy losses hit record high, possibly due to domain name hopping technology

According to Japanese media reports, according to the latest statistics, the losses from online comic piracy in Japan in November have reached the highest level in history, estimated at about 150 billion yen. Industry analysis shows that the reason is that these pirated sites basically use domain hopping technology to evade ban penalties.

It is reported that the total number of clicks on the top ten pirated comic sites in November was about 540 million, which has exceeded the historical high of 400 million set in December 2021.

According to analysis, these pirated websites basically use domain hopping technology, and the domain name of the website may be constantly changed in a short period of time, thereby effectively evading the ban and punishment.

The report also pointed out that almost all the operators behind the pirated sites are hiding in Vietnam and abroad, making them difficult to control.
